how cigarettes cause cancer, robot babies, and is it dark energy or just cloudy?

a little tired, but the scientist aren't stopping so neither will I.
Apparently the reason that cigarettes cause cancer is oxidation from hydrogen peroxide (or similiar compounds). Hopefully they will be able to pull these things out of cigarettes soon.
Thinking about having children? euro scientists say that a robot that learns like a newborn will be out next year. According to an article in PC WORLD, domestic robots should be in 30% of homes by around 2020, and this is the first step to teach them to learn from their environment.
The universe seems to be getting a lot friendlier lately. recently
it was discovered that rocky earthlike planets orbit anywhere from 20-60% of stars in our area of space, and today i read that carbon "whiskers" formed along with solar systems, and were probably shot all over space by supernovas. If the universe is cloudier than they thought, this means that dark energy might not be expanding the universe as quick as they thought that it is. You take this along with the fact that water now appears to be the most abundant molecule in the universe, and instead of having a cold, empty void (dry universe), we now appear to be living in one that is teeming with fertile planets to explore, and more time to do it!
a couple stories from the nanoscale as well...
The electronic structure of DNA has been seen for the first time, allowing scientists to study how DNA can heal itself ELECTRONICALLY! also they could use DNA to make super efficient,
and extremely small computers. I just finished blogging about the sheet of nanotubes, and now here comes metallic glass. bendable, twice as strong as TITANIUM and also lighter!
